PostDoc position in Endometrial Cancer Research – molecular and genomics studies

We have an open position at the Department for Surgical Oncology/Section for Research and Clinical Trials at Oslo University Hospital (OUH) for a postdoctoral researcher in Endometrial Cancer. The project “It´s TIME: How the Tumour Immune-Microenvironment of Endometrial cancer shapes prognosis and response to immunotherapy - A real-world study” is supported by South-Eastern Norway regional Health Authority to Principal Investigator Professor Kristina Lindemann and is for three years, with possibility for prolongment.

The Section for research and clinical trials is a leader in clinical trials for patients with gynecological cancer in the Nordic region and recruits for surgical, drug and radiation oncology trials. The trials often involve international collaboration with the international study groups NSGO-CTU (Nordic Society of Gynecologic Oncology) and ENGOT (European Network for Gynaecological Oncological Trial groups).

The post-doctoral fellow will work in close collaboration with the group of Therese Sørlie, Department of Cancer Genetics, Institute for Cancer Research (ICR) at OUH. ICR conducts cutting-edge cancer research ranging from basic cancer biology to translational and clinical research. It is the leading cancer research institute in Norway and has a strong international standing. Department of Cancer Genetics is one of 6 research departments at the ICR. Our expertise covers a broad range of disciplines and we perform integrated molecular and clinical studies to reduce risk, diagnose early, improve prognosis, and tailor treatment with relevance for many cancer types.

About the position:

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated candidate to work on genomic analyses in Endometrial Cancer. The project aims to improve our understanding of endometrial cancer and treatment response by carrying out a comprehensive characterization of endometrial tumors, including spatial analyses of tumor tissue and whole genome analyses of liquid biopsies.  

The successful candidate will be working in a social, multi-disciplinary and dynamic research environment between the two departments and will be collaborating with the Institute for Cancer Genetics and Informatics

Kvalifikasjoner:

  • PhD in molecular medicine
  • Knowledge of Cancer in general and Endometrial cancer in particular
  • Competence in liquid biopsy analyses
  • Experience with RStudio
  • Experience with multiomics approaches
  • Solid publication track record relative to stage in career
  • Experience with grant writing
  • Experience with supervision
